With multiple language requirements across their software and extensive documentation systems, they have a constant requirement for rapid response through each iteration of the main software product, coupled with a need to incorporate legacy translation in large translation memories.

Our services to Actuate have ranged from quick turnaround translations in thirty five (!!) languages to multiple, terminology complex, manual translations in Chinese and Japanese.

Our deliveries include the finished files as well as updated translation memories.

FileNet Corporation is a world leader in the ECM (Enterprise Content Management) solutions industry. Their International product division, based in Dublin Ireland, manage the localization of hundreds of projects each year.

Iota LS works as a primary partner for FileNet, performing Translation, Engineering, Linguistic Validation and Testing services. We work in eight different European languages as well as Japanese.

Our deliverables to FileNet are varied and include software resources, compiled and tested Help systems, as well as linguistic validation reports on running software.

Our deliveries to Participate Systems include the full range of translation services in several European and Asian languages, as well as Engineering and remote Linguistic Testing services. How long do translations take?
Translation time will vary, depending on a number of factors. More disjointed material (like software terms) will naturally take longer than flowing text in a User manual....

Will Linguistic Validation also validate the products functionality?

While anyone doing a Linguistic Validation will report any functional bugs they see, this process should not be taken as a functional validation...

If my product is Internationalisation friendly and properly resourced, why would I need Localisation Engineering?

No matter how hard the localisation industry tries, code and links are always liable to be broken when translation occurs...
